Hello again ._.)/

Here for another short update, I am drowning in deadlines and stress rn but have managed to get a few designs in as a way to distract myself from the chaos xD

1.  I like to recycle old ideas, apparently.

I don't even know what to call this style lol (monochrome.... manga... sketch...???) but I've been really enjoying making these sorts of designs lately.  Very easy to do once you find the right resources... and the end result looks so clean. ^^

Wouldn't call this set a progression really -- I think all four versions can be considered finished products of their own, as simple as they are.  The first one (furthest left) was my first attempt and I stuck with it for a while. After a while I decided I really didn't like the positioning of the characters, but there was little I could do bc of how the art was cut off at certain parts.  I could have forced it by hiding the edges with additional pngs maybe, but I wanted to keep it simple so I decided to go for other options for the character art.

Yeah, character positioning can be one of the trickiest things when parts of their face/head are cut off in the original art.  Then, half the battle is just figuring out a placement that works. 

It's hard to explain in words, but you can see in the next example...

2.  Progression for Firestorm cover design :D

So this was my basic workflow for a cover I made for Rusty.  With the way the top and side of the character was cut off in the original image, there wasn't much I could do spatially.  I could have kept her upright but that would have left very little room for a second character, so I cheesed it by rotating 90 degrees to make more space ^^

The other thing was that the character art for Ryoko's faceclaim was not at all in the style Ace was drawn in.  So I made a few adjustments before putting them together.  

And this is the end result! I made three versions -- one without filters, one with a red overlay over everything, and one with a  clipped red overlay to her hair for better contrast with the other colors.
